The Federal Emergency Management Agency operates the Emergency Management Institute located in Emmitsburg, MD.  At this facility, a wide variety of emergency management related courses are presented, in addition to being the home of the Independent Study programs.  Many of these programs are offered free-of-charge to all who qualify for enrollment, and college credit can be obtained through a for-fee service after successful completion.  For more information on the instructor facilitated training and the independent study programs, visit their website at http://training.fema.gov .
